This year, the Summit was 100% virtual. 

This activity was planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Medical Society of Delaware and the Delaware Academy of Medicine/Delaware Public Health Association. The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

An update on Delaware Health
Dr. Karyl Rattay, Director, Delaware Division of Public Health.

Dr. Rattay has served as the director of the Division of Public Health since May of 2009. Dr. Rattay directs 700 employees who protect Delawareans from disease, environmental hazards, and public health emergencies. Her teams promotes healthy lifestyles and ensures that health care services are available to our most vulnerable populations. Her vision for the Division of Public Health is “healthy people in healthy communities.”

COVID-19: Global Health & Global Response
Dr. David Henderson, President, Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America

Dr. Henderson is Senior Consultant to the Chief Executive Office of the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. He has been at NIH since 1979, and retired from his role of Deputy Director for Clinical Care at the Clinical Center in January 2020, a position he held for 25 years. Dr. Henderson is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and is President of the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology in America.

COVID-19: Immunity and Vaccines
Dr. Marci Drees; ChristianaCare

Dr. Drees is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, and is the infection prevention officer and hospital epidemiologist for ChristianaCare. She is a clinical investigator with the Center for Outcomes Research and co-director of Resident Research for the Department of Medicine. Dr. Drees serves as the Chair of the Infection Prevention Committee, and serves on the Healthcare-Associated Infections Advisory Committee for the Delaware Division of Public Health.

Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C)
Dr. Neil Rellosa; Nemours/AI duPont Hospital for Children

Dr. Rellosa is affiliated with the pediatric infectious disease unit at Nemours/AI duPont Hospital for Children. He is a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine, an attending immunologist and infectious disease physician at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, and specializes in HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, and immunology. Dr. Rellosa is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious disease.
